seems to be listed on unbeatable now of a little under £300

    http://www.unbeatable.co.uk/CatalogueItem_25233.html

shame the user manual is only half as it only goes up to page 80ish rather than 170ish!!!

    RDXS32

price drop to £299 at a few places on the net eg. prc direct. And it also shows the rdxs30 the older brother as being £385 so maybe the price on unbeatable will be the norm!!!!

That's what it says in "What Video" magazine... Mind you, that also says it will have a digital tuner, but nobody else seems to think so!

Im expecting it to have a 160 Gb HDD, with no digital tuner. But for the extra price of a STB, I still think its brilliant VFM, if it ever arrives

looks like it is the right price got this from unbeatable!!

    Dear Sheridan

This is the correct price, the 32 model has now been discontined and we have a good price on the newer model from the supplier.

another little bit of info from around the net

The new RD-XS34 Multi Drive (DVD-RAM, DVD-R and DVD-RW) DVD Recorder will
feature a 160GB hard disc drive allowing users to record and playback their
favorite TV shows as well as building personal movie libraries for archiving
and preserving family videos. To help consumers with their digital recordings,
the RD-XS34 features TV Guide On Screen Interactive Program Guide for simple,
user-friendly channel navigation and recording scheduling. In addition, the
unit comes with the EASY NAVI portal, offers high speed dubbing and comes with
a DV input to allow the transfer of camcorder recordings directly onto DVD
    media.

it looking good....maybe a little too good!!

Where did you get this info.Sounds like it may refer to a US model which would use the "TV GUIDE" epg.

Unlikely, especially regarding the EPG.It probably won't have one at all

I thought I'd bring it up (and can people be kind and positive to me!!) but are people aware that the RD-XS32 doesn't PLAY either +R or +RW.

Therefore there could be a similiar problem with RD-XS34.

Toshiba customer services returned my call today :

    1) The spec is exactly as the RDXS32, but with 160Gb hard disk

    2) It will be available in may

    3) No confirmed RRP yet.

do I wait 3 months for a good deal, risking whether Unbeatable will honour the price ?

presumably Jethro your advice to me would be to cancel the order ?

On AV forum, there also seems to be a lot of threads from peeps who say the 32 is a brilliant machine - I am really confused now

maybe I should stick to VHS..................

I have never had a serious problem with media on the Toshiba.

It won't play +R or +RW that I create with my SONY DVD writer in my PC but no problems with -R or -RW.

I use datawrite 8x grey -R and TDK 2x -RW all from

    http://blankdiscshop.co.uk/

and have never had a coaster.

They play perfectly well on my standalone SONY dvd player

    Still confused over tuner.
If it has an EPG then presumbably it must have a Digital Tuner - unless it's referring to teletext or the Philips type system.
