You can now text landlines from your mobile and can have them say your name instead of your number & the big one is 3G is now supported postcode checker is on there site.

    + all virgin sims come with £5 credit on them, they aint going to give them away.

    What are you on about mnm05?

    I believe texting a landline is now active on Virgin - not a joke
    3G is now supported by Virgin - not a joke
    However, on the 'name' thing, I haven't a clue if thats true or not.

    Texting from Virgin to landlines has been possible for several weeks now, haven't looked into how you set up the system to speak the name, I never got the text from Virgin to say how to do it, though my friends did. Maybe I'll check their website.

    Is this the only reference to 3G that they make...the coverage checker is a bit superficial e.g. "3G coverage is not available in your area"

    To get the SMS service to use your name / nickname when texting a landline without SMS capabilities, then send a text from your Virgin mobile to 27777 with the name you wish to use, Virgin Mobile will then call you back for you to confirm the computer generated voice of your name, or have the option to record it yourself.
