  This double thread thing is what I dread happening every time I start the 6am thread.
  
  It'll be off the first page by 10am.
  
  It is possible for the thread starter to edit to the thread title. Changing the topic to something different will be an easy way to save face.

  Can the thread titles on the others be edited to something completely different, like "Ignore" and delete the whole of the rest of the title so it doesn't look like the WHATM even if you're not reading properly?

  I did mention this above, but its too late now the 60 minutes editing time has passed. Perhaps the mods will sort it out.

  I did try to edit the title but it says the time has now expired and can only be done by a moderator. I think it just comes down to bumping this one and the others will drop to next page or be deleted by a passing moderator.

  Surely you know immediately after starting a thread, at least within ten minutes, if someone was doing it at the same time as you? If you check/one checks just before starting and again upon making the thread, it will be in time to go straight back in and edit the title
