Anyone with suitable satellite equipment might want to try and view the BBC's first HDTV broadcast today - http://e-pressroom.com/cgi-bin/ibc_ep_release04.cgi?db_id=4258&doctype=txt
Sounds like it will be on Eutelsat. Any chance that someone can grab a screen image to post somewhere?

All I can say is that it is somewhere on e-bird at 33 East and apparantly, there is a TF1 (the French national television channel), HD feed on AB3@5West somewhere.

Found it on eBird, it's either encrypted (it is flagged FTA) or not started yet.

Yes, it seems so. The AB3 bird is live and well but E-bird has no life to it.

Interestingly on my Technomate, the HDTV broadcast comes through with great sound and wavy lines but on my Echostar, I just get a blank screen. Some receivers may be better at coping with the signal than others then.

Are the receivers from Quali TV still around £400?

Those that were able to see the transmission, how did you watch it? Surely there are no recievers for this format

    www.quali-tv.com or www.zinwell.com.tw or www.sateuropa.co.uk (Skystar2 or the new Skystar1CI, not the Skystar1!)
Use Sonic or Cyberlink codec with suitable DVB-S application.
There has been discussion about qualitv on avforums. Cheapest I saw qualitv was £350 (not sure if VAT was included)
