Granada Plus off air ?

Just switched on + Plus and it's showing a still of the Granada Sky Broadcasting logo and some music.

Has the channel been taken off air, is it something to do with the forthcoming launch of ITV3. I know ITV were looking to get rid of Plus & Men & Motors. Or has it just fallen off the air for some other reason ?

It was closed without warning mid-way through 'Pie In The Sky' while the adverts were on.

I am pissed beyond belief. I am a BIG fan of plus and I usually tune in to watch the old msyteries and whodunnits, it had a nice "believeable" feel to it.

OMG they've replaced GPlus with ITV3, what they give with one hand they take with another. Yeah ok they will put some of GPlus's stuff on ITV3 but less is not more in this case.

Oh yeah I forgot about that, I hope they are gonna keep showing it on ITV3.

Wow I didn't see that coming, neither did any of the TV mags :(

I'll miss my Saturday morning comedy (Only When I Laugh, Rising Damp, Watching, and Not on Your Nellie).

I suppose we will never get to see them again

ITV3 is a poor replacement, just look at this Saturday " Close to You: The Story of the Carpenters" is on three times 8.55, 13.10 and 17.55 (is that the same program repeated twice in the same day). Lots of repeats of Survival (5 in total), plus two Royals (probably the same episode)

really disgusted at the way Plus was removed. I really enjoyed the programmes. They would have been better removing Men and Motors.

I hope that since the abrupt removal of Plus (RIP) that some of its programs can now be transferred onto the somewhat sparse ITV3 schedule. There's no point in repeating most shows 3 times per day on ITV3 and having an archive of shows which are never shown.

The reason plus was removed is because it targets the same audience as ITV3 which is the over 35's. The deal with sky saw them remove one of their channels. Men and motors will prob be off of sky by the end of teh year when their deal runs out

You've gotta remember that ITV3 schedule for the coming weeks was planned months in advance. In contrast Plus's demise has happened in a period of probably under 48 hours.

It will be a month or two before we begin to see Plus's content and shows incorparated into ITV3.

alexj2002 what u said is completely true. In fact we didnt know plus was gone until 5pm at ITV. There were ads scheduled to go out tonight on plus and we had to phone the agencies and tell them the channel is over. It was a complete shock. They will work some of the shows into the schedule after the new year

Put them on M&M for the evening until they are merged properly?

I hope Men and Motors sticks around. I'd hate to have to pay for my porn.

Its strange that they ditched plus and not men & motors. How many people watch that junk? Less than two probably.

So no more Poirot, Darling Buds of May, I dream of jeannie, bewitched, diagnosis murder, all programmes I used to watch on Plus :(

I would have rather waited till March for ITV3. Not happy now.....

Some Plus programmes might turn up on ITV3, but remember the schedules are created weeks in advance, and as Plus' closure was a very rushed decision it'll probably take at least a month or two before they do.

Oh don't remind me I'll just get P-O'd and break something!:(
But it really is annoying, when I had days off I could leave Plus on for pretty much most of the day and watch it, whereas I don't think I've ever even watched a single minute of M&M...
