    what does one have to do to qualify as a chav?

    My take on it is - someone common as muck, where's discount clothes, doesn't work, claims benefits, council estate etc.

    Y are Christina Aguilera, Britney, The Beckahms on that list? Or am i totally confused?

    Doesn't neccessarily refer to social class, rather their clothes and the way they behave.

    Yes, true chav's have all the qualities you've named.

    However, there are also honorary chav's who are living proof that money can not buy class. That's what most celebrity chav's prove daily.

    Of course it doesn't. There are probably quite a few hard working people who live on council estates. Wearing discount clothes doesn't necessarily mean that a person is claiming benefits neither. Not everyone is lucky enough to be earning high wages.

    I'd like to stress that not all people on council estates are Chavs. Just the vast majority.

    I live on a normal residential street, and there are loads of Chavs around here.

    I'd like to add Gary Lucy to the list.
