Yes, it's on the Now Bristol Mux (and probably a few others)

Trying to find the other thread about it now.

Is this just a temporary station occupying the space for the new children's station until April?

I believe it's another digital station from GWR.
It's on at 128k stereo on NOW S&C.
Like GWR's Classic FM, the IDs sound very "Chiller Cabinet".

I'd be disappointed if this was replaced by the kids channel!
I like the music format of the station, and I'm glad it's a station that's adventurous in the kind of music it plays. I was hoping Smooth Digital was going to be like this, but oh no, it decided to stick with the "safe" music.

    A highly welcomed station!

Either CRUK/Fun will be at lower (mono) bitrates when it launches, or more realistically, they will timeshare with this Chill station, à la Capital Disney's programming years ago.

I would expect CRUK to be off-air after 7pm and it will probably be at 64k mono given the nature of its programming, so you could be right.

It isn't on NOW Nottingham either. It seems that Chill is being rolled out gradually over the NOW Digital network.

No. If Chill isn't already on your NOW MUX, it's unlikely to pop up in the near future.

To be pedantic, NOW Nottingham is actually run by NDEM.

Taken from the news pages of another well known UK Radio Site:
"Chill is a brand new DAB digital radio service being rolled out across nine NOWdigital multiplexes serving Bristol & Bath, Essex, Dorset, Wiltshire, Devon, Coventry, Berkshire, Cornwall and Cambridgeshire".

Apparently a website for this station is going to be launched in the next few weeks. No doubt that it will also have a web stream for the station.
I wouldn't be surprised if it also joined all of GWR's other Digital radio brands on Sky sometime this year.

I think it's a great station. Since "Pure Chill" stopped broadcasting on Capital Disney overnight a few years ago, there has been a big lack of Chillout music on UK Radio.
And now GWR give us a dedicated station to playing Chill Out music! :)
Hopefully this station won't get dropped because it's not mainstream enough. It's what DAB Radio is supposed to be all about - Increased listener choice and specialist music stations. Not clones - eg. Smash Hits, The Hits, Capital Disney.

Would be a great shame if it's not on NOW Nottingham, would be a good replacement for either Saga, Sabras or Capital Disney!

NOW Nottingham is full - apart from a 32kbps Mono Slot (would suit EMAP down to the ground ;) ) or Sabras becoming Stereo.

NDEM is a GWR Capital Co-Production, we'd only be likly to get Chill and the other NOW stations if/when the East Midlands gets a regional multiplex (Being one of the few regions with an Analogue regional (or 2) and no digital equivelent) I think Solent is the only other, but that has broadly similar coverage to South Hants 1 which already has a frequency ready for South Hants 2. (Wales and Severn Estury have been merged into 1)

Saga should be on there, as should all analogue stations (less practical for former DAB station Oak FM and it's contempoaries though). Capital Disney is a unique station in radio terms and is also deserving of the space, and Sabras Sound is ideal for Nottinghams Asian communities. All in all NOW Nottingham is a great example of showing how you can improve quality of all the stations in the area (except BBC Nottm and Trent which are clear as a bell anyway), and increase the diversity of programming available. Where else would you get an Urban (with some commercial dance) [Galaxy], Modern Rock [Storm], Asian [Sabras] and Childrens[Disney]?

Really pleased that it's on the Now Cov mux which I can get here in Leicester with a DAB 'beam' antenna.

Sometime ago there was a thread on DS asking what stations you would like on DAB. I suggested one which was a mixture of RadioIO Ambient and Classic FMs 'Chiller Cabinet'.

I hope it fits the bill. First impressions aren't too bad. :)

Chill is on our DAB transmitter here at Bluebell Hill in Kent.

The output as others have noted, sounds interesting.

    :D

I think Chill is a geat concept,I am enjoying music that I have not heard before.like most I hope they include track info soon!

I am new to Dab the main thing that attracted me to Dab was the fact that there is more choice for portable listening(ie not via Sky or freeview).

I think there should be more diversity of stations,
    EG like Chill,The Arrow,3C Country,Jazz etc.etc.
None of these are on my local Now Leicester or National Multiplexes.

We could have done with this station in Kent, our Local Mux is really sparse. It looks as though the shared service isnt coming to fruition so this would have been nice

I bet the person who got Chill in Kent is probably receiving it from NOW Southend and Chelmsford?
