1. Teachers TV has moved to 592, Vectone Bolly on 831 has been renamed Vectone 4 U and FCUK FM on 934 has been renamed “Radio”
2. UKTV Style Gardens, testing now on 6520.-.11.817 V. The new station will feature shows such as Challenge, The Weekend Gardener and Ground Force, as well as new content. UKTV Style Gardens launches on Monday 21st February on EPG 144 but will have a “Full” launch 21st March and will transmit daily from 07:00 – 01:00.
3. The licence held by Auctionworld Limited (in administration) ("Auctionworld Ltd") to provide the service known as "Chase-it TV" (TLCS licence no. 568) has been revoked. Ofcom has also revoked the licence held by Shop Smart Television Ltd to provide the service Shop Smart Television (TLCS licence no.529) broadcasting as Shop Smart, in accordance with section 238 of the Communications Act 2003. 6. JML Home shopping is to launch a joint shopping channel with Kleeneze which will be available on Sky . 7. ZEE TV is set to become the biggest Asian TV network in the UK by adding a fifth entertainment channel to its current network called Alpha Gujarati which is due to launch 28th March
8. The UK television licence fee (which is paid exclusively the BBC) is to increase this year. From April 1, a colour license will rise by £5.50 to £126.50, and a black and white licence by £1.50 to £42.
9. The Labour peer leading the review into BBC funding, Lord Burns, has indicated the licence fee would survive for the next 10 years. But a major overhaul of the governors was required and admitted the licence fee could eventually be abolished. 14. D.S. Reader David McH tells of an email he received from Crime & Investigation Network in Australia. They say that they have only just launched in Australia on the 1st January, 2005 and we were the first country in the world to premiere this channel. They also believe that BSKYB are considering launching this channel. A date has not been decided on at this point, however it is likely to be sometime at the end of 2005. 15. Channel 4 is reportedly considering moving entertainment subscription channel E4 onto the free-to-air Freeview platform. E4 is committed to Sky until 2008 and also has carriage deals with cable operators NTL and Telewest, but is said to be looking at moving E4 perhaps as early autumn. 16. ITV has announced a 10-year deal with Teletext to launch and operate commercial and editorial text services across all the ITV family of channels in digital homes. The new service, which will be branded 'Teletext on ITV', will be accessible on all digital platforms giving viewers in multichannel homes direct access via the text button on their remote control. The 'Teletext on ITV' service will first launch on digital satellite and digital terrestrial during early summer 2005. The service will include news, sport, weather, travel, lottery results plus entertainment features including content relating to ITV programmes. European HDTV pioneer Euro1080 is to launch a second service, HD-2, in June 2005, with the emphasis on pay-per-event. Gabriel Fehervari, General Manager of Euro1080 also revealed that the operator would be using MPEG-4 encoding from that time. In addition to Euro1080’s involvement with SES-Astra, Fehervari confirmed that he had secured distribution deals on alternative satellites such as Sirius, Hellas Sat and Turksat, as well as some 20 cable networks. Toshiba has won a major victory in the battle to determine the standard for next-generation DVD’s with the endorsement by four Hollywood studios of its High Definition-DVD format. Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, New Line Cinema and Warner Brothers their supported the HD-DVD format advocated by Toshiba and NEC. Universal Pictures said it would come out with titles in the format during the 2005 holiday season while Paramount committed to bringing content out on HD-DVD in 2006. The support of the Hollywood studios gives a strong boost to the Toshiba camp, which is competing with a group led by Sony to standardise the next generation of optical recording technology. Sony is leading a group of consumer electronics and PC manufacturers promoting the rival Blu-ray Disc format.
The EBU Technical Committee has recommended that Emission standards for HDTV should be based on progressive scanning: 720p/50 is currently the optimum solution, but 1080p/50 is an attractive option for the longer term. Although there are strong technical arguments in favour of progressive scanning for emission, the EBU Technical Committee recognises that some broadcasters might wish to broadcast 1080I-programme material. As consumer electronics equipment (e.g. set-top boxes and displays) will accept both 720p and 1080I formats, broadcasters will be able to select either of these formats * even on a programme-by-programme basis. Taking into account that production and emission standards do not need to be identical, further EBU studies on Production standards for HDTV in Europe are in progress. Pace has announced plans to make high definition compatible set-top boxes available to satellite and cable operators across Europe. The Fox owned UK version of entertainment channel FX289 is to join NTL’s digital cable lineup a week earlier than we reported at the end of last month. The broadcaster has just announced that it will be on the NTL cable system from February 17th. FX - also known as FX289 due to the channel's EPG position on Sky - has managed to secure the same channel number on the cable platform. SMS text messages can now be sent and received using a Telewest landline. Sending a message over the Telewest network will cost 10p (7p if the subscriber is on the Talk Mobile package) and will require the subscriber to have the Caller Display feature on their phone line, in addition to having a text-enabled phone. Incoming texts are free - and for those with a standard phone, it will be read out by an automated voice instead of being displayed on a text-enabled phone's screen.

According to the Daily Mail NTL and Telewest are reportedly just weeks away from launching video-on-demand (VOD) services., the cable groups plan to launch in two cities before rolling out full services. NTL is said to be ready to launch in Glasgow while Telewest will launch its VOD trial in Bristol next week. Telewest has announced new commercial terms with Channel 4, Eurosport, TV Travel Shop, The Community Channel and Teachers TV. The cable company confirmed it will carry Channel 4's new venture More 4 when it becomes available, plus Teachers TV, a new channel from the Department for Education and Skills, which launches in February. Terms have also been renewed with Channel 4 for the continued carriage of E4 and FilmFour, in addition to new agreements with Eurosport for British Eurosport and new channel Eurosport 2 (formerly Eurosport News), launching on 10 January. Finally, new terms for TV Travel Shop and The Community Channel have been agreed, meaning they will continue to be available to all of the company's one million digital TV customers. The Fox owned UK version of entertainment channel FX289 is to join NTL’s digital cable lineup a week earlier than we reported at the end of last month. The broadcaster has just announced that it will be on the NTL cable system from February 17th. FX - also known as FX289 due to the channel's EPG position on Sky - has managed to secure the same channel number on the cable platform. SMS text messages can now be sent and received using a Telewest landline. Sending a message over the Telewest network will cost 10p (7p if the subscriber is on the Talk Mobile package) and will require the subscriber to have the Caller Display feature on their phone line, in addition to having a text-enabled phone. Incoming texts are free - and for those with a standard phone, it will be read out by an automated voice instead of being displayed on a text-enabled phone's screen.

According to the Daily Mail NTL and Telewest are reportedly just weeks away from launching video-on-demand (VOD) services., the cable groups plan to launch in two cities before rolling out full services. NTL is said to be ready to launch in Glasgow while Telewest will launch its VOD trial in Bristol next week. Telewest has announced new commercial terms with Channel 4, Eurosport, TV Travel Shop, The Community Channel and Teachers TV. The cable company confirmed it will carry Channel 4's new venture More 4 when it becomes available, plus Teachers TV, a new channel from the Department for Education and Skills, which launches in February. Terms have also been renewed with Channel 4 for the continued carriage of E4 and FilmFour, in addition to new agreements with Eurosport for British Eurosport and new channel Eurosport 2 (formerly Eurosport News), launching on 10 January. Finally, new terms for TV Travel Shop and The Community Channel have been agreed, meaning they will continue to be available to all of the company's one million digital TV customers. Telewest has recently failed to reach agreement with a number of channels that are no longer carried on the network.
Telewest has agreed new carriage deals with Channel 4, Eurosport, TVTS, Community Channel and Teachers TV.

As previosly mentioned, Sky Vegas Live 2 also seems to be on the cards.
Anyone have more info on Radio London ie is it the Ray Anderson version or something else?
Real Estate 2 has been on there for a while, yep - you can tell how recently something has been added (roughly) by looking at the number of the htm file that listing is on - the higher the number, the more recent the application has been granted. Sky Vegas Live 2 is pretty new.

Well, there's 2 labels "Radio" one at 11.389V and the correct one for FCUK FM at 12.402V. The "Radio" at 11.389V is currently silence. Perhaps this could turn into a new service, or, most likely, will no longer exist.

British satellite TV company BSkyB has signed a deal with UK bank Barclays to offer a co-branded credit card that can be inserted into its set-top box for on-screen shopping. SkyCard, which will launch later this year, will also offer "SkyPoints" for every purchase made with the card, which can then be exchanged for discounts on Sky services. The card could eventually be used for a range of interactive activities, including rewarding viewers for watching advertisements and offering deals on CDs and DVDs during music and movie programming. Barclays launched the first European credit card in 1966 and is still Britain's biggest credit card lender.
