BBC Radio Kent’s Drive Show wins the first award of the night – the Event Award – for their coverage of the 60th anniversary of D-Day. Heather Mills McCartney presents the trophy to presenter Dominic King.

First win for Five Live – they pick up Gold in the News Story category for their coverage of the Tsunami. Christian Fraser, presenting one of his first shows on Five Live, collected the award.

Stephen Nolan just misses out on a second Gold of the night – he gets silver in the Interactive category, with Gold going to BBC Three Counties Breakfast.

It’s a second win for Christian O’Connell – his Rock School competition is awarded Gold in the Competition Award. Christian O'Connell thanked voice of the Rock School, the late Tommy Vance.
22:20: Two Top Awards for Catherine Bailey
Gold and Silver for Catherine Bailey Productions and Radio 3 in the Drama category. Gold went to their production of Laughter in the Dark, and The Permanent Way picked up Silver.

A win for new station Kerrang! 105.2. They’ve only been on-air in the West Midlands since last June, but Drivetime with Lucio has won Gold in the Daily Music category.

Channel 4 News host Jon Snow gives a Special Award to the creators of UK Radio Aid who raised over £3 million for the tsumani appeal with a special day’s broadcasting across almost 300 commercial radio stations. Jon Snow was one of the guest newsreaders on the programme. Mark Story, Keith Pringle, Paul Brown and Chris Evans collected the award.
