Defying the wishes of the majority of Congress, the American people and the Vice President, Bartlet persists in the hope that inviting Palestinian and Israeli leaders to participate in peace talks will forestall the necessity of a U.S. military retaliation. Even Leo (John Spencer) feels that the President should order an attack to make a decisive statement on terrorism. Bartlet's only hope is that a risky secret negotiation will deliver the leader responsible for the bombings into U.S. custody. Meanwhile, Josh (Bradley Whitford) hovers worriedly by Donna's bed in a German military hospital. As doctors try to stabilise Donna's deteriorating condition, no one knows whether or not she will suffer brain damage if she survives.

10:00pm THE WEST WING: The Birnam Wood
Bartlet arranges for representatives from Israel and Palestine to visit Camp David in Maryland for peace negotiations. Leo remains at the White House in order to give the official order to attack the Ein Hawa terrorist training camp in Syria.

West Wing double bill- excellent :D. More of that please More 4, lets catch up and have Season 7 in January. Interesting scheduling on a friday night- a nice alternative to what else is offered, and if I'm out the Sky+ will take care of it, or theres a late night repeat.

Looks like a good line up, plenty there worth seeing- The Daily Show at 8:30pm, very nice. Strange that as I'm quite a bit younger than the age they're aiming for- ah well, old before my time!

Are we getting a +1 version of the channel as well?

What? I thought the last season finale on C4 was the Kidnapping of the Presidents daughter - when is the 5th series being shown?

^Yeah, Sky 1 show that a lot as well. :)

jamiec21, where did you get that schedule? Do you know if there'll be a repeat of The West Wing on any other day? Or if the Friday slot is only for the first week? (to fit in the recap programme). I hope Friday isn't the only time it's shown, as I think that's a terrible timeslot. Isn't Friday the night channels show failing programmes that they want to bury?

Edit to add: I've just read on the Digiguide forums that More4+1 won't launch until the week after the main channel.

What? I thought the last season finale on C4 was the Kidnapping of the Presidents daughter - when is the 5th series being shown?

It was, last year - on E4. Channel 4 have yet to schedule series 5. For more details go to the programmes forum and search on West Wing.

I never thought I'd say this, but why oh why didn't Sky buy the rights to WW at the beginning? Channel/E/More4 ... a complete joke. Started well, but with the advent of Big Brother started downhill like they were on the Cresta run.

Thanks jamiec21. Took me a few minutes there to work out how to access them. Still no link on the main site. :)

Edit: I've noticed The West Wing catchup show isn't listed there. Did you add that yourself, or have they taken it off?

Series 5 of The West Wing was on E4 last year, I think. It was never shown on C4.

The following weeks schedule is up, and The West Wing gets a Sunday night repeat. Also, the David Blunket drama is repeated on Saturday night, and the Mon-Fri schedule looks the same as the one in the original post, with the 2 hour slots still TBA.

C4 and E4 got the rights when C4 swooped and did a huge deal with Warner Bros- mainly to get the pay tv rights for Friends and ER- to make them the big attractions for E4's launch. C4 never had in the pay tv rights originally so Sky were able to buy them and show Friends and ER first- at the start of each shows season 4 in 1997.

The first season of The West Wing was on Sky One in January 2000- the first and only time we've been anywhere near the US broadcast date. C4 had the fta rights and were worried it wouldn't get viewers (they never gave it a decent chance) and so held back the show until early 2001, meaning those who'd watched the first season on Sky One had to wait over a year for the cliffhanger to be resolved- E4 showed Season 2 from July/August 2001. Ever since we've had to wait almost a year, and now even longer, after the US start of a season to see the show. Lets hope More4 do the decent thing and run seasons 6 and 7 close together, if not back to back.

    Nope, it's just a one off. :(

But if more4 show season 7 straight after, then that should still catch us up to where we should be.

So apart from two new shows, it's just the same programming as Channel 4 then? (i.e. West Wing, Sopranos etc.) And even on the first day, there's repeats?

    Or am I missing something?

    Have a nice day.
