Ok, I will level with you. I do not have a clue about how to manipulate "the software" and get additional channels. This is a plea for guidance from an enthusiastic , but relatively new DS devotee. J'avez Sky Digital (family pack & Sky Sports) and there are 2 freeview boxes in the house for ancillary TVs too. How the feck can I add channels (aside from the standard re-scans for freeview updates such as ITV4 recently)?

All replies taken on board in good faith. I am here to suckle on your collective bosom of knowledge, you middle class back-combed sycophants.

Deggsy at work has an old analogue satellite system in his garage, gathering dust. He declared it redundant when he got a digibox. Is there life in the old dog yet? Can "old" analogue dishes and boxes be purchased, nicked, rigged up still? Or would that be a pointless exercise? Mrs Flank might not approve of the big dish aesthetic, but me and the little Flanks would be up for it.

    Cheers, from a late developer!

Grab that analogue kit and have a look here:

    www.analoguesat.co.uk

You can get some free music channels and Eurosport.

As for the extra channels aspect, well there isnt much around running off the epg. A handful of radio stations, a few tests for forthcoming channels and a couple of Czech services which finish at the end of January.

    Adding channels is easy.
Services 4 4 gets you into the ADD CHANNELS menu. Use the parameters you see hereto set the transponder. Follow instructions to scan the tp, then Services 6 to watch the test.

Note you only get channels appropriate to your subscription level, so anyone can watch free tsts, but on the rare occasions a Sky Sports test turns up, only Sports subscribers can watch it.

Thanks Speculator for posting this. Have often seen the weekly post in the old forum. Unfortunately it didn't give any indication of whether a sub was needed to view the test. So after spending ages trying each one only to find that non of them were viewable I stopped bothering. This is exactly what is needed.

You're probably right - though I wondered whether it might be in the style of Russia Today and be on Hotbird only.

Not long to wait, though - unless it has been delayed again.

    Mr.Bush won't like it!
