Breaking News on the news channels at the moment. Apparently felt faint earlier.

Don't know if it's serious or not but she has been unwell for a while.

    mores the pity!!!

I'd rather feel sorry for the millions of people in their 80s who feel faint and also have an ounce of compassion for classes below the middle one!

She was arguably the most influential leader both home and abroad that this country has ever had

I didn't vote for her. I didn't vote for John Major either, but I think he actually gave a monkey's about people who weren't in the ruling class, and I respect him. I even respect Michael Heseltine, because he could hold his own in a public meeting. :o I didn't vote for the Queen either, but she has class. Go figure.

People tend to forget the "working class" people she did help out.

One example - junior soldiers who, having dealt with crap duties that striking militants in the previous Labour administration wouldn't carry out (dealing with stockpiled dead bodies, clearing up infested rubbiech etc) were finally given a decent rate of pay. Some soldiers were receiving benefits of one form or another to make ends meet until pay was sorted out.

Churchill happened to be leader during the war, but according to my grandparents was not actually a sucessful Prime Minister, which is why he didn't last that long

oh god not the "they couldnt even bury there dead" line.

It didnt happen. its a right wing lie to make you all fear the unions.

Thatcher was a cancer on our society which we are still paying the price for with every Rail accident, high fuel costs, and devasted working communities.

If you say so. Regardless of your view pro/anti unions many working class soldiers were better off under Thatcher than under previous governments.

maybe the soldiers were well-off but surely they were a tiny percentage of the working class, the majority of whom were certainly NOT better off.
