Sky is currently running low key newspaper adverts in the Republic of Ireland, promoting "Sky TV from just €10.75 a month for your first 3 months". There is a strapline stating "UTV is now available free-to-air on digital satellite" with a footnote explaining that it has to be manually tuned.

Because Sky know that one of the main reasons that people were not switching from NTL/CHORUS to Sky was that UTV was not available on Sky. Now that has all changed. Even poor chorus had to change their National advertising campaign. "Must have Channels not available on Satellite, Chorus Sports"
Because Sky can mention the fact that other broadcasters are available via Digital Satellite, if it helps their sales.
The post was Sky doesn't broadcast UTV. UTV themselves broadcast the channel, it just happens that if you have a Sky Digibox you can pick it up.
Sky do NOT broadcast UTV, UTV do.
