Let me Guess, You get 403 (Auth required) ?

If you do, What you need to is sign in to www.passport.net

then get your contact to send you the activity invite.. (if they get the Auth problem they need to resign-in aswell. (Do not use firefox, it reads IE's cookies...)

you need to do this a couple of times..

It's caused by a bug in the ASPX code... (it doesn't check the cookie correctly) So you have to re request your Tweener(Long Auth code used by MSN( So it refreshes it...

    Sorry, I write MSN Bots...

i found i had problems when i first installed it as well.

So i had to delete the old msn 7.5 and ALL folders to do with it thus losing all my custom emoticons etc..

    it worked a treat.

if you want to do this then go to my computer then paste in this:- C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR COMPUTER NAME HERE\Application Data

Then look for the microsoft folder, double click that, then look for the MSN messenger folder and delete it.

then reinstall WLM 8.0 and all will be well.

    Hope that helps :)

However, this wasn't a problem for you because you're not an idiot and you don't install beta versions on your main PC. ;)

oh jeez - what's this Winter Grooves e-mail all about? lol - just bad, bad, bad (and not in the good sense!).

'Put old man winter on hold and get your Winter Groove going by clicking on the following link'

    http://www.imagine-live.com/wintergroove/windowslive%5Flanding/

What exactly are they trying to achieve with that? hmm, I wonder whether the 'windowslive_landing' part of the link means 'Lives' official release is imminent?

...and d'ya think they're trying for the worlds longest ever e-mail address? heh

    communications_msn_cs_enus@communications3.msn.com

One for the spam folder methinks!

I should have read the smallprint more carefully before I signed up for the Beta, I didn't realise they were gonna send me pointless crap.

To the OP, if my FAQ question didn't resolve the issue, then it's possibly being blocked by your firewall. If you go to this link http://messenger.jonathankay.com/allsteps.aspx?ID=16 there are a list of ports at the bottom that will need to be opened for all the features of WLM/MSN to be accessible.

    Hope this helps
