Too good to be true?

It's really happening!

"The unlimited web’n’walk means that e-mail, browsing and chat is now cheaper than ever and you no longer have to worry about costs. There's also a whole new range of new handsets available from June with and there's confirmation from T-Mobile UK that this is NOT a "walled garden", but full internet access."

Certainly makes mobile-browsing more appealing compared to not-so-mobile BTOpenZone's £10 per month for 250 minutes!

Sounds great, but as with most things unlimited the 'Fair Usage Policy' applies. Anyone know what this entails? (Actually, I'm usually a fan of FUPs, just as long as they're 'fair' ;) )

Also, do the 'Web 'n' Walk' tariffs actually allow you to have the data allowance used via your phone as a modem for a laptop or is the data restricted to browsing on your handset?

Not sure, tbh. T-mob have said that it won't be a walled garden, so maybe there won't be any restrictions?

Update: T-mobile now have their FUP on the website.

"The Relax web 'n' walk and Flext web 'n' walk price plans are subject to a minimum term contact and credit check. Compatible handset required. Fair use policy applies: The web 'n' walk option, Relax web 'n' walk and Flext web 'n' walk price plans provide unlimited internet surfing on mobile handsets in the UK. To ensure a high quality of service for all our customers, they are not to be used for other activities such as (but not limited to): modem access for computers, internet based video/audio streaming services, peer to peer file sharing, internet based video download and internet based telephony. If such use is detected, notice may be given, after which network protection controls may be applied which will result in a reduced speed of transmission"

Also, until the end of the month T-mobile are offering 25% off the £7.50, in addition to the 25% of the standard tariffs.
