'No nudity' clauses

I see that Sharon Stone has blessed us with a full frontal in BI2 - although it is done atop of a London skyscraper, so full marks for bravery to the woman. However, that is extremely unusual for a top Hollywood star (if Stone is A list anymore) to reveal themselves in all their nude glory. Normally, what happens is that when starlets are first starting out they are quite happy to drop their togs, but come mega bucks and respectability, body-doubles are employed and the 'no nudity' clause comes into existence. No doubt Ms Katie Holmes has been explicitly told by her svengali, oops, I mean boyfriend Tom Cruise, that she is not to get her bazookas out again as she did in that film with Cate Blanchett (I've forgotten the name of it!!)

Back in the 60's it was de rigeur for any female star to get 'em off at the drop of a hat (or pair of scanties!). They also had to justify it in that "It was essential to the plot" too! Helen Mirren was one of the prime movers in that revolution and never minded baring her all, and she still says she'd do it now if she needed to. Mind you, probably at over 60, the viewing public would be yelling at her to "Put'em back on!"

OK, SS has a great body, but I don't think it's very dignified for women of a certain age to be exposing themselves.
Just my opinion.

Well down at your local Ritzy Cinema I guess!! I have no idea actually, I don't think it's as iconic as the cross legs scene of BI1.

Yeah I think it was a clause in Helen Mirren's contract that she had to take her kit off!

They never let the men do it though do they, apparently it's guaranteed NC17 if the men let it all hang out so to speak, seems a little sexist to be honesy, although breasts and peen aren't really comparable and you rarely see the bottom half of a lady ........

It's not really a level playing field with male female nudity - you get more boobs than anything else, and you can't really say that male topless and female topless are equivalent.

You get *very* little male nudity and that which I have seen recently was not who I would have chosen - Bob Hoskins in Mrs Henderson Presents *vomits* - It's a difficult area *sniggers*

English films are more liberal about it, you can get full frontals in a PG. Not sure about Brokeback mountain Pants, I've only seen Heath Ledger's paparazzi photos on the internet

The closest you get in Brokeback is an *extremely* long shot of Heath and "Jake" (i believe it was a double) jumping into a lake - you see long range dangly bits.

Some should have a clause from birth that they cannot show any flesh.

Sharon Stone is a film actress that thought after Basic Instinct she would become the "star" actress her ego demanded.

She's an actress with a "basic" instint to become someone.

It didnt quite work.
Yes she made millions of dollars being the woman that showed her snatch, but has she ever acted?

She's had 10 years to make an inpact as an actress?

Actually quite a few male actors opt for a no nudity clause according to Mr Ouch, who actually does have a no nudity clause in his contracts unless the part absolutely calls for it. This harks back to the days of his early career and marriage where his ex wife used to have a hissy fit if he had to make out with anyone or be naked with them in a scene in a play or whatever. Also he reckons that there is far too much nudity on screen anyway. He says that a good actor or actress should be able to carry a part without getting naked. In a way I agree with him. I think the naked thing is used as a ploy these days to get attention. Probably because the actual script/scriptwriter are a heap of crap and the storyline wouldn't hold the attention of a goldfish.
