hollyoaks rumored revamp???

i have just read that hollyoaks is set to stop in september for a revamp. it will return in january with new characters and a new theme.
whats your ideas for how they will give it a long break and how they should axe all the characters to make room?
i think that they should have something really OOT in true hollyoaks style like a jumbo jest falls on the village?

i found it on a fbw fan site which had links to piczo sites. im dreading that it isnt a piczo site as i cannot remember
but i think it's true as i remmeber reading some think in a soap magazine ages ago
It's gonna be more blonde, more sex, more of the stuff teenager are into, there trying to sell it to America so they want to start again with fresh characters so america can view it at the same time as us!
hopefully it will receive a better slot from C4

However, until All3Media say so, i'm not willing to believe the show is taking a 3 month break. This has been rumoured before...
It was one of my fave shows but recently i cannot be bothered with it
As for Hollyoaks its been dire for ages now, It was great when it started, went down hill a bit then in 2002/2003 picked up the pace, but again now its past its best. I would definatley watch a new version, always keen to give revamps ago. Lets just hope its not another Crossroads!

they are trying to america it up if u know what i mean, to sell it to US tv staions
I agree I doubt it will be another Crossroads, but it is a risk taking off a soap and expecting viewers to return, especially if it's going to be changed radically.

Hollyoaks is undergoing an exciting period of change and we are now looking for a Story Editor to lead the Storyline team.
The Story Editor will work alongside the Producer and Deputy Producers to produce strong engaging storylines to keep the viewers hooked
and take the programme forward.
As well as having an excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken, you must be creative, be passionate about drama and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
With previous experience of writing for television, preferably in storylining/story editing, you should be able to work quickly to a brief, be flexible and have good organisational, administrative and people management skills.
Specialist training in story editing would be a distinct advantage.

Sarah Dunn's departure has to do with an affair with Dom that leads to her death.

In the revamp, I hear The Ashworths are leaving aswell as the Mother in The Barnes family, Liz will move on leaving Mel, Sophie and Justin.
A mass cast clearout so i think all these departures will happen in an accident type thing, like a plane crash onto the village or a gas leak blows it up or something
something ott to put hollyoaks out with a bang it would also be a plausable excuse for why lotsd of cast members will have disspeared when it returns
Don't know if it still applies, but they used to take on loads of freelance staff (including writers) on non-renewable 10 month contracts.
