Lost channels... Horizontal Polarity

About a week ago started to lose some channels ... some times...., I have identified these as Horizontal polarity, 27.5 symbol rate, 5/6 FEC.

Anyone got any ideas as to whether its the LNB or the box not lifting the voltage to 18v that is causing the problem as other channels with horizontal P. but different symbol rates and FECs are OK..

In last couple of days now gone permanently.

Will be testing with a mates box at the weekend or am I wasting my time doing this?

STRANGE ONE........
before these channels disappeared permanently my teenage son discovered that on one of the dodgy channels if he pressed and held the blue button on remote in the period of blank screen between selecting channel and the "NO SATELLITE SIGNAL ........" banner, then a pixellated picture appeared which then slowly built up until the channel appeared OK but then disappeared when he released the button but could be rescued again if his finger went back on the blue button, then stayed without this prompt if he held on for about 45 secs.
Can anyone explain this phenomena?

Thanks in advance for any help provided

Can you confirm that you are talking about a Sky Digibox in use on 28E?

Can you please provide details of the Make and Model number of the Receiver?

    Yes, Sky on 28.2 E

Box is Grundig, am at work at moment so can't look for model number but it is 5 years old, and is the one notorious for PSU failure after 18-24 months.

    Thanks for swift response

Sorry for the delay - quick trip into Town for Haircut and Shopping!

You may have answered the question for yourself, I'm afraid.

It doesn't sound like LNB failure and that Model has known ageing problems.

The swop out you propose should confirm it.

£12 to repair, or get a new (or newer) Box. :(

As for the "Strange One" .............. who knows!

    Old Pace.

Talked him down to a tenner.

Guy at another stall wanted £20 for a white plastic Amstrad (no chance , I noticed he was left with it at end on day)
