If Freya Skye hadn't suffered an infection immediately before last year's contest, I think the UK would've won last year, as it was a decent pop song. In fact, Lose My Head remains a more listenable track than I Wrote a Song for me.
Freya was insanely good during the London pre party. Would be awesome if she would have a go at adult Eurovision in a few years.
Really liking the sound of Mustii. Obsessed with Skyline so I hope his actual entry is as strong.
I just want to see the UK do well at Eurovision. They don't need to win to make an impact.
Sam Ryder finishing 2nd for the UK was practically a win in itself. It proved that we can do really well at Eurovision with an excellent singer, a strong song and brilliant staging - the perfect package.
The BBC proved that the UK can do well in 2022. There's no reason to suddenly revert back to 2021 levels again. Then again, 2023 wasn't exactly continuing where 2022 left off so... *shrugs*

It’ll be interesting to see what direction the BBC go in. Generally non-mainstream/indie acts are much more experienced and better live performers which is what’s needed for the contest but they don’t have the required funding for ESC. The BBC also want a radio song they can playlist and if they try and go for a major label artist it limits their options because a lot of them are stronger as studio artists unless they are well-known or have toured a lot. It’ll be difficult to find a balance if they don’t expand their selection process.

I think it's been said probably a million times but BBC need to aim to win if they want a chance of landing in the top 10. They can't carry on thinking that if a song is just alright, it will get points.
So far 28 countries including Luxembourg have made a public statement saying they will take part others like Greece, Croatia and Armenia who have not said anything are sure to be in but the main uncertainties are
Australia - current deal with EBU ended, no indication they will withdraw but still participation is unknown
Romania - unconfirmed reports of a possible withdrawal due to poor results/lack of interest
Slovenia - some reports there are funding issues and their participation is in doubt
North Macedonia - all the indications are they will return
Montenegro - nothing from the broadcaster to indicate a return but have not said no either
Bulgaria - no public statement so far probably a no but who knows
Finally hopes are rising for return for Monaco. They just launched a new channel this week who are EBU members so everything is in place for them to take part.
Regarding the 2024 entrants, I hope Australia are invited and accept the chance to continue appearing. Theit entries have all been interesting, and quite varied, and I think their participation has added something to the contest.

Seriously, just leave it alone. Four hours once a year is hardly a big deal. Also, while accepting even the most enjoyable of things in life have to have a finish time, I'm confused as to why some are so keen to do something that would ultimately just take away enjoyment from tens of millions of people.
