I've never read so much crap before in my whole life. Please Arius, could you get to hear if any of the emails are getting through?? Because I really will despair if they even take any notice of such awful ramblings.
I was under the impression she'd kidnapped him last week so he couldn't make it out to Bahrain.
Police would no doubt be tracking the nutella shipments
I was going to say she is maybe the reason he is not there
Perhaps she is just so depressed he wasn't on the show she has locked herself away with newspaper/magazine cutouts?
One brief negative point I forgot to mention about the F1 coverage from Bahrain is the F***ing football again.
I thought ITV had stopped that? We could have had another few interviews in that time. I mean, they're in the paddock, I'm sure they could have grabbed someone if there were no LG or TK interviews available? The footie put a complete downer on what was a decent round up of the day's racing, and it spoils the flow of the post race show. In fact it completely ruins the post race show, and I see it as very sloppy and unproffessional. Football is not linked in any way to F1 or motorsport, and these ads can be run after the F1 show has ended. I don't even care if F1 finishes 2 minutes shorter to go to a footie ad. Just don't put it on until F1 is finished.
Absolutely not logical at all, I don't care if it was a quarter final, it is spoiling the end of the show for us - what was again a good end to the live show.....
We want to watch the end sequence and put the tv off with a smile, not annoyed by that f***ing football again

I thank anyone at ITV who ever heeds this request
dont worry i've got a feeling footie on itv will be finished fairly soon-no more'the premiership'(hooray)after this season, they've already dropped 'the goal rush' and 'on the ball',maybe sky and the beeb can carve up the champions league between them, just think-ron atkinson-free coverage.BTW allen must go.

Football has a very big link to motorsport, in that ITV wants the same type of viewers to watch both (that's ABC1 men 16-35). If you have watched any of our football output recently you'll have noticed that they often promo motorsport, particularly WRC.
You'll also notice later in the year promos for the Tour de France. We know from reading this thread that a lot of F1 fans also enjoy watching the Tour, so it is logical to cross promote.
Last night's football game was the most important of the season so far, and was exclusively live on ITV1.
Next season as well as live Champions League football (which ITV has covered since its inception) there is a very real possibility of live Premiership games on ITV.

Oh dear! Still hate footy. Mind you I see ITV have lost the chance to cover the MotoGPs up until 2009 thanks to the BBC. What you lose with one hand you gain in the other?

I read that with a bit of dread.
Do MotoGp's clash with F1 race weekends?
I was hoping that the BBC would at least make some form of bid for the rights to F1 when they come up (if only to give irritate ITV for a moment or two!) but if there is a clash between MGP and F1, then the BBC wouldn't be interested in writing a figure, bunging it into a envelope, and posting it to Bernie.
Unless of course the BBC Sport are still in a massive grump over what happened in 1995 - in which case, no bid will ever be tabled by them for the foreseeable future.
MotoGP doesn't clash with F1. ITV is obviously disappointed not to win the rights, after coming very close two years ago when they came up. Given the awful way the BBC has treated MotoGP since it took over from Five, it's hard to see why they were given such a long contract.
Still, it would have clashed with WRC, which we believe has the potential to be much bigger the MotoGP.

I can't wait. British Eurosport's extensive cycling coverage this year is really whetting my appetite. But I am really looking forward to the ITV/ITV2's coverage as VTV's programming is always the best sporting highlight package of any sport on any channel.

Slightly off topic I know, but I really cannot VTV's Tour programmes.

It's the missing word which holds the key to this sentence.
Perhaps "I really cannot stand VTV's Tour programmes"
Or "I really cannot fault VTV's Tour programmes"
Or "I really cannot praise highly enough VTV's Tour programmes"
I started to get interested in the tdf last year thanks to the great coverage on ITVs channels, but there's not been good enough cycling coverage on terrestrial tv in general to get me right into the cycling. I think I'll be watching the tour with interest though. Cycling is racing, F1 is racing, football is a rubbish ball sport. It doesn't come close to ice hockey. I like watching NHL. I think ITV should try and get NHL coverage
Or "I really cannot fault VTV's Tour programmes"
Or "I really cannot praise highly enough VTV's Tour programmes"
For me its either of those two- perhaps the latter as I do have the odd quibble, but for me the VTV team of Ligget, Sherwin and Imlach is the TDF, and its about the only sporting event where I'd choose not to watch live coverage because the hilights package is so well done. If only we could see the VTV live coverage (which goes out to the US for starters...)

Sadly we lost the live VTV coverage every day last time, (and at least one of the ITV1 'live' programmes was delayed by 10-15 minutes) but at least the hilights were on at a regular time, just like the old C4 days. (With much the same team.) I'll often criticise ITV but they've treated the TDF fairly well. I understand why there isn't daily live coverage, its just that VTV are so much better than Eurosport.
Can I just put on record that I appreciate and really enjoy watching both wheeled and ball sports. I think I might be in a minority here!

Thanks for pointing this out Ariusuk- it is the sentence above.
Admitedly Eurosports live and highlight programmes are sometimes messy in places, but at least you see more action than VTV's programmes, which seem more interested in competitions and other things to gloryify themselves.
Also, I find Liggett and Sherwin "wooden"; Duffield and Kelly are brilliant. Duffers' humour and sheer passion for the sport is vastly superior to Liggetts, and Kelly provides great insights on the racing when DD is getting excited about last night's wine !

Quickly - cus it is massivly off topic..
DD's commentary can be amusing, but the 'fluff and padding' aspects can get tiresome.
One year (2000 I think) about an hour into stage 1, he started to ramble on about where he was going to get the opportunity to wash his underpants during the tour..
..At least James Allen hasn't decended down to this level - yet.
Comments
Honestly, you employ a retired racing driver in good faith and look what they go and do... :
As for HTS, he may not be wearing a silver spacesuit, but...
Oh, and where's Katherine this week? She hasn't complained about Teach's absence from Bahrain yet.
I was under the impression she'd kidnapped him last week so he couldn't make it out to Bahrain.

LMAO
BTW. are you guys following the anti Allen campain over at Scuderia
Great stuff

Don't suppose he has things to drive at Thruxton too?
She may be camping out there ready for him.....
