Hi,
Thinking about my football options next year. Predominately have Sky for Premiership plus Setanta sports for Scottish Football. It works out quite expensive!
So I was wondering about ART sports which covers all sorts of games on there channels. http://www.first-sat.co.uk/equipment_and_accessories/pay_tv_cards/art_6m.htm £76 for a 6 month contract. Does anyone have any experience of ART? Does it show Scottish football? Are the Movies any good?
To be able to receive this I would just need a new box with cam and LND set for Hotbird. Likely costs for the box?
Thanks in advance
Murray

The football was excellent, usually in English, although Art had a tendency also not to bother broadcasting the English, but tons of Premier League matches, they also showed Scottish Football, Bundesliga and French Football too all in English, so it's well recommended for footie.
Box £120, dish pointing at 13E, and Viaccess 2 CAM, not very expensive, always expensive at beginning, but you get to watch millions more matches
Would you still be able to pick it up.
Its just that I dont want the neighbours thinking that i have two dishes to pick up the foreign porn
Haven't got a clue....try emailing ART themselves? It wouldn't surprise me if they negotiate rights on a season-by-season basis.
Not really, the mini-dish isn't big enough.
I'm about to get a triple LNB 80cm system for 13, 19 and 28 degrees East.
Don't regret it for a minute as I get LOADS of football -Scottish, Premiership and Champions League. I've since helped 4 friends make the move too and they're well chuffed. Commentry and pictures are 99% of the time exactly the same feeds as used by Sky and Setanta.
Only downsides are that sometimes they move the Scottish games around and don't show them live. So that the 2pm game is shown at 6pm (in full) ofr occasionally on the Monday. Though it has to be said that towards the later half of the season this only happend once or twice. Art 2 also has a funny sound break-up thing which is quite annoying. The Arabesque website (http://www.arabesque.de/schedules/artsport.asp) gives listings for all 4 sports channels but generally only for a few days ahead and more than once I've tuned in and the program isn't as scheduled. Also, you're always left sweating to see if they negotiate new contracts to cover the next season
If I were you, I'd wait for the first week of the season to start, check that Art is carrying the matches you want and if it is, MAKE THE SWITCH!!!
If this is the case then who knows how long ART will have the Prem for?
Is that so Mr. Beckham can learn it... lol
On looking at the website they have listings for Fox sports and NBA TV. Are they included with your subscription or do they cost extra? Is it an offical subscription?
I've just got the standard ART 6 month pay as you sub card. The card activates itself and starts the 6 month sub when you plug it in. Really easy. I'm lucky as I know buy 10 at a time and get a bulk discount from a guy who sends them from Tunisia. They cost him about £35 and he sells them to me for £55 (he also sells on eBay) with buy 9 get 1 free.
My main concern about the contract is for the SPL matches which nobody can confirm will be on Art next year. Art is carrying trailers for next season's Premiership and Champions league so I don't reckon there'll be any problem there. There also was some talk about Art moving off Hotbird a while ago but I've not heard much about that either.
Thank you
And an official viaccess CAM would cost under £20 second hand but you'd probably be best with a nice CAM such as Matrix reborn for £37 here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5783279851
But there are as many boxes and combinations are there are users on this site!!!
How is easy is it to put the dish together and attach it to the wall, could you do it with very little know how?
I am going to contact a Sat installer during the week if he can do me a deal on new dish and box etc.
