OK, can everyone post in this thread for all Pace Twin 2005 software/firmware related problems. This includes download problems and bugs found in the latest software starting to be broadcast tomorrow (28th Oct 2005).
This will keep everything in one place and allow Pace Technical to track problems.
The Part 2 thread is HERE
Thanks,
David Brown

It's supposed to be a rewrite of the core system so the look and feel should stay the same just the way it allocated resources will have changed. So we should end up with a much more stable unit.
This download is only for 3 days so there will be a repeat of it later on, probably Monday to Thursday next time so I wouldn't drive 90 miles just to catch the first one.

Who'll not be in work etc and be reporting here at 10am? I won' be able to get home and have a play until 2pm-ish
Think about it, chances are this'll be the last time we're all anticipating a Twin update
Can't upgrade until tomorrow evening (unless I throw a sickie) so looking forward to reading all you guys comments first.
Here's hoping Pace have finally got it right.
On the questions of HDD size, I upgraded to a Fujitsu MHU2100AT (100GB) a couple of months ago with no problems at all. Now get about 60 hours storage space (which the wife has already filled up with Live8 and Lost).
I don't know if this is good or bad. Certainly it has problems occasionally - not responding to remote or front panel buttons and having to be powered off is the most common.
Do I risk it???
thanks
I'm at home today and ready for the 10am update, however just spotted the wife has stacks of stuff in the library still!
If recordings get deleted it'll have to be a trade off decision between one big load of grief or the constant threat of her getting a 0 second recording on important episodes (like the CSI finale) - that wasn't pretty.
My experience with previous updates is that they have not deleted/modified any settings, timers, or the recording library.
I'd love this to be the fix that resolves the FF/RW, freeze-frame, momentary freezes, crashes and 0s recordings. I'm dubious that it will, though. Just hope I'm wrong!
You shouldn't lose any recordings. At least no problems in the past.
Mike.
In the past you had to be on a BBC channel to get the download.
Mike
It's flashing. I'll tell you sooon!
Appears to have preserved channel lists and recording library. No obvious changes to user interface so far.

I was doing that, only appeared at 10:13 for me is downloading (very slowly) right now
No obvious changes, although loading the MHEG on BBC News 24 seemed quicker.
did it continue? Mine has now stalled at the same point...
Has anyone else received this e-mail? Can someone with the new software check if TUTV's channels are showing on their EPG?
