Read my post, there's plenty of money in Cuba to be shared around, I saw it with my own eyes and that's just not happening. Communism may work, and Cuba may be doing relatively well considering the restrictions placed on them by the US but they are an extremely poor example of a successful communist country - the difference in classes between many of it's inhabitants is massive.
Indeed, Forbes estimated Castro's fortune to be around $110 mil, about 10% of the GDP of Cuba.

Hi T--J,
I didn't quote Cuba as an example of a successful communist country, or as a communist country. I was tempted, but went for Vietnam, since I needed just one counter-example.
Where I'm coming from is that I don't see the world in black and white, what I loathe about Mrs T's politics is that it is divisive, it is black and white, us and them.
If you have a house, a kitchen, a cooker, a plate to put them on and you've paid your gas/electricity bill.
Details, eh?
Hehe, you guys.
It was an analogy made because trash80's post about other non-communist counties suffering poverty was about as relevant as the price of eggs (;)), to the argument that Cuba was a successful example of communism.

No, I know that KJ but others did. TBH, politics just doesn't interest me in the least but when I saw Cuba being held up as a successful example of communism, I nearly choked on my tea!
Even though I come from the North East...I hope she makes a full recovery. I don't like the woman at all..but i'm not going to wish her dead though. They called her the iron lady..a fitting description of her I think.

Yes shame on you that remark is offensive to those people who don't drink.

You dont have racism in Cuba.
Can't speak for the whole of Europe myself, but Thatcher is FAR from being a popular figure in Italy and Germany, at least.
Not sure that's a compliment, necessarily. When Bin Laden talks, others listen too (!).
What that bastian of free thinking Forbes??
Utter and compleate tosh!

Human Rights aren't much better either.

"I hope she rusts in hell"
I dont trust any information that pops up on a website. I prefer to make my own assessments
Long Live Fidel. Long live the revolution.
Two sides to every story ...

But of course, you choose to blame the Labour administration for that don't you?
(but it'll be worth it)
What is this hell you speak of?

Somehow, I don't think you'll be alone
Tell that to T--J and MrsKJ44
she'll refuse to go to hell, if i remember correctly 'burn if you want to, this ladys not for burning'
Oh come on.
Like her or not she held three terms as Prime Minister, so of course it is "big news".
Hell is afraid she'd take over
