FYI
I have Sky By Mobile on my Nokia and have just received the following text message -
"You will soon be prompted to download new software from Sky by mobile. This features the Sky TV Guide & soon Remote Record with Sky+ all from your mobile"
Cool

Couldn't be far off though.
As its via the Sky By Mobile applet, should just be data charges to your mobile operator. Seems Sky may not be generating any revenue from this little feature.
Sky will be downloading the software over the next few weeks.
You willl be able to check your EPG and record stuff if you have Sky+.
The remote record feature will cost 50p per setting. 20p goes to the phone provider. 30p to Sky.
Is this service only available to Nokia phones or certain providers ?
Crazy. Much cheaper to phone the missus and ask her to set it
Thinking more about it, this could become quite a costly exercise!
maybe all will be revealed in this months Sky mag ?
Go to http://www.sky.com/skybymobile/home and register.
You basically set up an account (free of charge) and supply your Sky account details and a mobile number. A service text is sent to your phone with a link to download the SBM app. You don't need 3G, it'll work quite nicely over 2.5G.
Give it a go. You can always uninstall it if you don't like it.
HTH
I've had the text from sky too.
Doese this mean it'll be free to do it through wap rather than an sms or will it be 50p however it's done?
If its gonna be free online then I would assume it'll be free (data charges aside) using SkyByMobile.
An option to record using a text message (which is what has been discussed before on these forums) will undoubtedly cost and I would assume that it is this which will cost 50p.
That's my take on it anyway
Hopefully the record work as this will be really usefull when you forget to set record when you are out. Quite impressed so far (but might get a shock when the bill come through for the data use!)
It's a 'coming soon' feature in customer services, unless I'm missing something.
Oh well.
Steve.
