Got a 150 16 months ago, a Digidave for it about six months ago, all been well, aside from the occasional need for a reset.
This weekend it required three resets - unusual - and on the third one it appeared to die. Sequence of events: 'hold' with green light twitching right to left, then 'hold' on its own, then 00.00 for a moment before it reverts to just the red light and so further sign of life.
This sequence has happened consistently. After a few attempts, the Digidave appeared to turn up its toes, too, since it now won't produce any response in the Fusion. I then tried with the original Fusion psu, and got the exact sequence again. Is it time to give up?

I just think the 150 line is seriously flawed (my brother gave my parents his 150 because it was too noisy for his home). I would not rule out getting a refurbished replacement... but I would definitely be wary due to the hassle that my parents experienced.
If you've had over a year's use out of it then it may not be a bad idea to consider putting the money towards another model. If I experience this then I can definitely see me considering the, considerably more expensive, Topfield option.
If you are sure your Digidave's power supply is OK (no reports have ever been received of them dying) then the next thing to check out is your hard disk.
Firstly, check that the grey ribbon cable into the back of the disk is FIRMLY attached (don't ask me how, but they can work loose) and also the other end on the motherboard (but treat that end with more respect or you'll damage the circuit board).
Next, replace the hard disk (or at least remove it and attach it to a PC either with an IDE cable or in an external USB 2.0 case). Load up Syphon and see whether it can detect/read it. From this you may be able to determine whether the hard disk is viable.
If all the above is way too technical then I suppose the option of a replacement unit is indeed your next step .
Next time one of them goes down I'll try and brave this Syphon business. Meanwhile, many thanks for the advice.
I bought a FVRT150 over a year ago, everything was fine till the power supply gave up, I bought a higher amperage version, things improved, but still had lock-up's until the unit finally stuck on 'hold'.
Rather than dabble inside the unit myself I sent it to the guy on eBay who does FVRT repairs and upgrades, I basically paid for the return postage as part of the auction.
I sent the FVRT150 to him he sorted the hard drive, tested the power supply and changed the noisy fan for £26 on top of the auction price. I am well pleased, the 150 has a new lease of life and I feel it was value for money.
We also have a FVRT200 in the house, touch wood all is well at the moment but a least I know where to send it if it packs up.
[OK, a bit of a private joke for those members who have been around long enough to understand it]
But well done Digiboxer for getting your Digibox repaired and for posting your findings on this forum. Do you want to post more information about exactly who this chap is etc? Might help a few more people who are not prepared to take the lid off...
If anyone follows in your footsteps I would recommend they only deal with him via eBay, as sellers there are paranoid about keeping their good ratings and will go the extra mile in service. At least that is my experience.
He only seems to put this FVRT repair/upgrade auction on about once a week, he also has replacement fans on all the time by the look of things.
The last auction was number 9743679192
I had no problems dealing with the guy, communication was good, and my 150 came back fully working, so I am happy.
